National parks cover some of the most scenic views of New Zealand's landscapes. Apart from north island, you can find the national parks in south island, too. And in fact, south island actually contains 10 national parks in total!

Abel Tasman National Park

Nelson lakes national park, located at the north of the south island, is a pristine alpine area. The park covers a wide range of short and long walks, and is also the home to over 16 lakes. Here you will be able to find the Blue lake, the lake which has discovered to have the clearest natural freshwater in the world.

Paparoa National Park

Paparoa national park, located in the northern part of the south island's west coast, is well known for its Pancake Rocks and Blowholes. But in fact, the park offers also an stunning coastline, coastal forest, limestone cliffs and canyons, caves and underground streams.
